Learn how to create your first digital wallet pass in minutes. This guide walks you through the basics of PassEditor — from signing up to distributing your first pass.

What is PassEditor?

PassEditor is a platform that lets you create, distribute, and manage digital wallet passes for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. Whether you need event tickets, loyalty cards, coupons, or membership cards, PassEditor provides the tools to build professional passes without writing code.

Step 1: Create Your Account

Visit app.passeditor.com and sign up for a free account. No credit card is required to get started. Once logged in, you’ll see the dashboard where you can manage your projects and passes.

Step 2: Create a New Project

A project in PassEditor is a container for your passes. Click “New Project” and give it a name — for example, “My Event Tickets” or “Customer Loyalty Program.”

Each project can have multiple pass templates and issue passes to recipients.

Step 3: Design Your Pass

PassEditor provides a visual editor with real-time preview. Choose your pass type:

  • Event Ticket — for concerts, conferences, sports events
  • Loyalty Card — for reward programs and points
  • Coupon — for discounts and special offers
  • Membership Card — for clubs, gyms, organizations
  • Generic — for any custom use case

Customize the appearance with your brand colors, logo, background images, and text. The preview shows exactly how the pass will look on both Apple Wallet and Google Wallet.

Step 4: Configure Real-Time Fields

Real-time fields let you insert dynamic data when issuing passes. Common examples include:

  • Customer name
  • Ticket seat/zone
  • Points balance
  • Membership tier
  • Expiration date

These values can be updated later via the dashboard or API — without reissuing the pass.

Step 5: Set Up Notifications

PassEditor supports three notification types:

  1. Push Updates — Change pass content after issuance
  2. Location Notifications — Trigger when customer enters/exits a geographic area
  3. Time Notifications — Schedule messages for specific dates/times

Configure these in the pass settings before publishing.

Step 6: Distribute Your Pass

Once your pass is ready, you can distribute it through multiple channels:

  • Email — Direct email with one-tap add-to-wallet buttons
  • SMS — Text message with deep link
  • QR Code — Printable or digital QR codes
  • Landing Page — Branded page where customers build their own passes

Step 7: Track Performance

Use the analytics dashboard to monitor:

  • Pass installations
  • Pass views
  • Redemptions
  • Notification engagement
